We are the 99% of Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom.Occupy Norwich is inspired by Occupy Wall Street, a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders, abilities and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%.
The US action has inspired similar peaceful actions in the UK.
We are totally supportive of other Occupy initiatives, and feel there is value in responses on a regional level too, not everyone can get to London (Occupy the London Stock Exchange), not everyone can drop everything and leave, not everyone can afford to travel far etc etc. So that's why we're planning this non-violent protest in Norwich!
Come on down on October 15th, bring your placards, bring food and drink and warm clothing if you intend to stay. We don't know how long this will last, but the first step is to get ourselves down there together, talk and plan, make friends, reconnect with our local community, and make it OURS!

Why Norwich? There is nothing significant about norwich, why not just leave it at peace?. London is where britain does its politics and decision making. By the way you spelt color wrong, its colour, with a u in it, you would have known that if you were from Norwich.

Why Norwich? I say why NOT Norwich. The people of Norwich are the 99%, just like the people of Dereham, of Cromer, of Great Yarmouth. Just like peopel everywhere. Fed up with the corruption and greed and uncaring self interest shown by the 1%. Lets show them their smug, grasping ways are not the way a civilized society lives.

Dan shut up. Plain and simple. Everywhere needs to get on this, unless of course you want to be stuck inside a system that will take everything from you and then laugh when you are down in the gutter and have nothing else apart from the shirt on your back and a barrel of broken dreams.

Oct25 I keep meaning to go down there with a craema, but been laid up in bed with manflu the last few days. I think it must be challenging to portray it as it actually is, rather than just the parts of it that we find interesting/unusual or communicate what we think its about.
